KCCI is the only national body looking after the interest of the business community who are also major employers in an independent island nation of Kiribati.
Kiribati is made up of 33 low coral islands with around 2 meters above the sea level whilst one single island is a raised phosphate island dispersed over 1.3million square kilometers (1,351,000) square miles stradling the equator and bordering the International Date Line at its cater most point.
Only twenty islands are inhabited and the remaining are reserved for other Government purposes. The population during 2011 census reached 100k with around 50% live on South Tarawa, the administrative capital.
